Sony has launched a new smartphone named Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra. It has been priced at Rs. 29,990. The front and rear cameras of this phone are said to be its USPs.
The 6-inch display screen of the phone has a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. A borderless design has been given to the sides of the screen. The device runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat) and is powered by MediaTek Helio P20 octa-core processor. Backed by a 2700 mAh battery, the phone has a RAM of 4 GB. There are two variants of the phone with 32 GB and 64 GB internal storage and the external storage is expandable up to 256 GB.
Since this smartphone has been created with emphasis given to its imaging capabilities, it comes with a 23 MP rear camera and a 16 MP front camera. The rear camera is accompanied by LED flash and hybrid autofocus, while the front camera comes with smart selfie flash and Optical Image Stabiliser (OIS). Sony claims that the primary camera can click a photo in 0.6 seconds. The 'Hand Shutter' feature enables a user to take a selfie with a hand wave.
Sony is offering some attractive perks to the buyers of the Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra. Customers will get Quick Charger worth Rs 1,490 and three months of free subscription to Sony LIV along with each box of the phone. If you choose to purchase a Style Cover Stand (SCSG40) (costs Rs. 3,490) along with an Xperia XA1 Ultra, you'll receive a discount of Rs. 1000.
A fingerprint scanner, dual- camera setup at the rear, and a high capacity battery are expected in a phone of this price segment. The Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra lacks in all the three respects. Therefore, it will be difficult for the device to find acceptance among market favourites like OnePlus 5, OnePlus 3T, Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro, and Huawei Honor 8 Pro.
