The BlackBerry KEYone has been launched in India as Blackberry KEYone LIMITED EDITION BLACK at Rs. 39,990. The smartphone will go on sale on August 8th and will be exclusively available through Amazon. This is the last phone which has been designed in-house by BlackBerry. Future Blackberry models will be designed and developed by TCL.

Blackberry Keyone

The 4.5-inch display screen of the device has a resolution of 1620 x 1080 pixels. It runs on Android 7.1 (Nougat) and is powered by a 2.0 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor. It is backed by a 3505 mAh battery and has 4 GB RAM. An internal storage space of 64 GB has been provided and the external memory is expandable up to 2 TB. The rear camera of 12 MP comes with dual-LED dual-tone flash and the front camera of 8 MP is accompanied by selfie flash.

The major highlight of the KEYone is its Qwerty keypad. This keypad doesn't just make typing easier but also acts as a touchpad that can be used for scrolling. Further, keys of the keypad can be assigned to be shortcuts for the apps installed on the phone. For instance, if the 'c' key of the keypad is made the shortcut for the camera app, the camera app will pop up whenever you press this key. The spacebar of the keypad also acts as the fingerprint sensor of the phone.

BlackBerry phones are well known for their ability to protect their users' privacy. The KEYone too comes with the DTEK app which scans the OS and apps to ensure that the user's privacy is not violated. Apps like BlackBerry Hub and Blackberry Messenger (BBM) will be pre-installed on the device.

The BlackBerry KEYone LIMITED EDITION BLACK is the first dual-sim phone launched by BlackBerry in India. Its competitors in the market are Asus Zenfone AR, OnePlus 5, LG G6, and Apple iPhone 7.
