Now, the Yu Yureka is back with its all new smartphone called the Yu Yureka Black. First launched nine months back. This new phone packs a lot of features and lives up to a lot of expectations with its specification and performance.
Design & Display: Enough to live with
The phone sports an all-metal unibody with a glossy finish, that adds a premium feel to the smartphone. Much of the visual appeal of the phone is taken care of by the stylish 2.5D on top of a 5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The smartphone looks like a brilliant revamped version of the Yureka launched back in 2015 the same sandpaper finish at the back which became a signature for Yureka smartphone is still retained.
The smartphone boasts fingerprint sensor embedded inside the physical Home button at the front and also radiates a chrome color around it. The Yureka Black comes with neat design and only have a Yu logo on the rear side the phone comes in two versions: Chrome Black and Matte Black. The overall design is quite good to live up with when compared to the predecessor and shows enough looks that match the likes of a budget friendly buyer.
Camera: Worth the money
Yu Yureka Black comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with a Sony IMX258 sensor, PDAF, and a dual-LED flash. The secondary camera comes with an 8-megapixel front camera with its own LED flash. While looking at the camera, this smartphone has better focusing and clicks pictures at different exposure swiftly as it has phase detection autofocus.
This beats many entry level smartphones in the list like the Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime which comes short when considering the details and textures produced by Yureka. But the camera falls back in low light and produce noise. The front camera is good enough for some selfies and serves its purpose quite well. Overall, the Yureka black has a good camera when compared to other smartphones in the same price range.
Processor and other specifications: Decently packed
Yu Yureka Black packs a Qualcomm MSM8937 Snapdragon 430 Octa-core which clocks at 1.4 GHz and Adreno 505 GPU.
The Snapdragon 430 processor is the latest entry-level processor and the 4GB RAM coupled with this 430 processor is enough for most of the tasks and provides decent performance in all daily life scenarios. The same processor can be seen in many smartphones in the segment but the 4 GB RAM is an advantage when compared to other smartphones in the same price range like the Moto's and Redmi's.
The smartphones run on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) and this time the company replaced the CyanogenOS commercial custom ROM version made by the CyanogenMod Team, which can be seen in the predecessor Yureka.
The Yu Yureka Black's non-removable 3000mAh battery can last roughly a day after heavy usage and the smartphones charge pretty fast than most of the smartphones out there as it has super power mode to keep the battery juices flowing till the end of the day.
Verdict
The Yu Yureka Black is a good option when considering its price range. It packs a premium design that levels up to its price and performs well in all day to day situations with smoothness. The battery life is also a good highlight, but camera performance could have been better at low light. Yureka has all that the budget smartphones in the segment needs and comes in direct competition with Lenovo K6 Power, Panasonic Eluga Ray Max, Xiaomi Redmi 4 and the Motorola Moto G5 series. Priced just at INR 8,999 this smartphone will see a heavy competition among the budget smartphone segment.
