Though none of these news is authenticated, reports are circulated that LG will be unleashing their new Windows 8 Smartphone this year itself. According to latest news reports, LG is entering the market of Smartphones targeting a sales of 75 million units. Last year, the company sold only 55 million units which is not even comparable to that of Samsung, who is LG’s local rival. Samsung had sold 100 million units in Galaxy S series itself.
Earlier, LG had attempted to release a phone called 'The LG Fantasy', which was a windows 7.5 phone. The reason behind the calling off of that project is not yet revealed by the company. If they are sure to step up with a Windows 8phone, it will be welcomed as there are not much good choice in that genre except Nokia and HTC. If they are coming to front row, they should bring in considerable varieties of their model.

LG has been there under the lime light for a while as their Optimus G, the world’s first Android smartphone with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset, gathered attention and attraction of the market. The company had been on the hot talks as the manufacturing of Google’s Nexus 4 handset had been carried out in collaboration with LG.

There are also rumours which exactly contradicts the news of Windows 8phones. It says that LG has abandoned Windows and are to go on with Android. But LG's officials themselves have denied it. Though the rumours are not yet clarified, there is every possibility that LG might have realised the huge scope and potentials of Windows8. Lets hope for the release of a competent gadget from LG soon to fight shoulder to shoulder with the masters of the field.
