Samsung’s latest smart phone Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos has made its launch in India.The Galaxy Grand has two versions, Galaxy Grand I-9080 and Galaxy Grand I-9082, the latter a dual sim phone. Samsung claims this as the world’s best dual sim smart phone.
Samsung Galaxy Grand dual sim smartphone has 5-inch WVGA TFT LCD display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. It is powered by 2100 mAh battery. It has a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1GB RAM which runs on Android Jelly Bean (4.1.2).
As displayed in the press release, the Grand Duos has a pretty good display with good clarity and colour. The screen allows multi tasking, which allows the user to use multiple applications simultaneously without switching the screen. The device comes with numerous applications such as Smart Stay, which prevents the camera from going to standby mode while a person in there in front of it. Direct Call application allows the phone to dial a call automatically when it is raised up to the ear. Pop Up application allows the user to watch videos in a pop up window anywhere on the screen, while any other application is running behind it.
The device also has a unique Face and Voice Unlock facility which enables the user to unlock the screen with face or voice recognition. The phone has ChatOn application in built in it, which helps the user to get connected to friends and to do a lot more than just messaging. The device has so many pre-loaded applications like ‘Games Hub’ and ‘My Services’ that includes services like MyMovies, MyMusic , MyMobileTV , MyStation ,MyReader and MyEducation, which allow the users to enjoy and personalize their device.
MyMovies gives users access to thousands of Indian movies, trailers and film songs. The application Music allows them to download and listen to English and Bollywood songs from a song collection of more than 250,000. MyReader, MyMobileTV, MyStation etc are some of the applications that come along with Galaxy Grand Duos.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand dual sim smartphones have arrived in two different colours- Metallic Blue and Elegant White. It has a price tag of 21,500/- Indian rupees. As Samsung had dropped their plan to launch Galaxy S III Mini to make the way clear for Galaxy Grand, let us hope that the new offspring will rise up to their expectations.
