We had reported yesterday about Xiaomi's plan to launch a new brand. Now there are reports suggesting that the new brand is going to be called'Lanmi'.
Though there is no official confirmation from Xiaomi regarding the launch of the new brand, it is widely speculated that the introduction of the new brand is to tackle the offline might of Oppo and Vivo.
It is believed that the first model under the Lanmi sub-brand will be Lanmi X1. As per rumours, there will be two main models of Lanmi X1 and both the models will have 4 variants.
The first model is expected to have a 5.5-inch display with a 2160 x 1080p resolution. A dual rear camera with either Sony IMX362 or IMX368 sensors will most probably be included, along with a fingerprint scanner mounted on the back. The four 'RAM + ROM' combinations for the first model are:
4 GB RAM + 64 GB ROM, 6 GB RAM + 128 GB ROM, 6 GB RAM + 64 GB ROM, and 6 GB RAM + 128 GB ROM.
The second model will supposedly have similar features with a marked difference of the fingerprint scanner being front-mounted.
There is a possibility that the company will reduce the number of variants per model once they are sure which of the 'RAM + ROM' combinations would work best with consumers.
Looks like Xiaomi is not done giving nightmares to its competitors.
