The Facebook-owned private messaging application; WhatsApp will soon support sharing of all kinds of files on the app and will also support sharing across other platforms.
The app will be going to support a variety of file formats including the csv, doc, docx, pdf, ppt, pptx, rtf, txt, xls, xlsx and so on.
Whatsapp in the last update included support for sharing documents and with this new feature, the app will also support file sharing of same and cross-platform devices running on iOS and Windows and Android. When this new feature is turned on, a user will be able to share all file types to any devices which support this feature and WhatsApp installed on, but with as of now filesharing is having limitations, and maximum file size up to 128MB for iOS and 100MB for Android is now provided, and the file sharing option is also extended to WhatsApp Web with the file sharing limit set at a maximum of 64MB.
The company is also expected to bring out the new feature that will enable users to unsend or recall an already sent message to the messaging app; which is an already feature available in the photo-sharing application Instagram.
Moreover, In a recent report by the Economic Times, the company is said to be in a discussion about bank-to-bank transfer via UPI (Unified Payments Interface) with support from SBI bank to add support for payment methods in India. The report also claimed that WhatsApp is in talks with National Payments Corporation of India for this feature.
