OnePlus, the Chinese mobile manufacturer with the slogan "Never Settle" is in the news again with the launch of their most awaited OnePlus 5. OnePlus has always been a popular choice among smartphone buyers with the quality and high-end specification it provides under attractive price tag and OnePlus 5 is one of the much-awaited smartphones this summer.
The all new OnePlus 5 will have an improved design and build quality over its predecessor OnePlus 3/3T and is set to launch by June 15. OnePlus and Qualcomm has confirmed that OnePlus 5 will feature latest Snapdragon 835 Octa-core 2.35GHz processor and when it's launched it will be the first smartphone in India to have Snapdragon 835.
The pictures are leaked from the Chinese website Weibo and it appears that volume rocker and the power button is located on the right hand-side of the device. The dedicated homes button with the fingerprint scanner on the front which can be seen as in OnePLus 3T is still retained in the new design, but the silent button that's been in the predecessor OnePlus 3T, which helps to silent notifications and alerts appears to be missing.
One of the most widespread rumors about the new OnePlus 5 is the rear camera. As OnePlus is teamed up with DxO, the expectation about camera quality is very high.
In a recent blog post of OnePlus, it said: "Working alongside DxO, we’re confident the OnePlus 5 will be capable of capturing some of the clearest photos around". And if leak sources from Weibo are to be believed, the new OnePlus 5 will sport a vertical 16-megapixel dual camera setup at the rear combined with a LED flash.
The OnePlus 5 will compete with the likes of iPhone 7 Plus, LG G6 and the Huawei P10, but a direct competition can be seen with the Galaxy S8 as both have the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset. In the coming days more leaks and news about the device can pop up on the internet but the wait will be over when OnePLus 5 hits the market on June 15th.
