Micromax has launched a new smartphone named Micromax Canvas 1. This 4G enabled phone has been priced at Rs. 6,999. The phone comes with a 100-day replacement warranty on hardware. It is the first smartphone to offer such a warranty.
The 5-inch display of the phone has a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The device runs on Android Nougat 7.0 (Nougat) operating system and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor. It has a RAM of 2 GB and is backed by a 2500 mAh battery. It can store 16 GB of data internally and the external memory is expandable up to 32 GB. An 8 MP camera has been provided at the rear while a 5 MP camera has been provided for selfies and video calling. While the primary camera is accompanied by dual tone LED flash, the secondary camera has been given LED flash.
Though Micromax ruled the hearts of Indian smartphone users at one point, its market share has since diminished due to the arrival of Chinese brands like Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo. Features like 4G support, Android 7.0 OS, and selfie flash combined with the 100-day replacement warranty might lead to the Micromax Canvas 1 being successful even though it will face tough competition from the likes of Lenovo A7700, Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus, Moto C Plus, Moto G4 Play, Panasonic Eluga Arc2, Panasonic Eluga Turbo, Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro, and Samsung Galaxy On5 Pro.
