ASUS is ready to launch their Zenfone AR in India. ASUS India has released a tweet that says" We’re ready to change the way you see smartphones. The world’s first 8GB RAM phone is all set to land in India."
Zenfone AR is first launched in Taiwan and is now already in sales. It packs a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED WHD display that is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass4 protection and derives its fuel from Snapdragon 821 SoC. The phone is available internationally in different variants – 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB with expandable storage up to 2TB with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and in India, the smartphone will be launched with 8GB RAM version.
The smartphone has a 23-megapixel camera with Optical Image Stabilization (4-axis), 3x zoom, phase detection autofocus and depth & motion technology and in the front camera section, the smartphone have an 8-megapixel camera, both the back and front camera is made with Sony lenses and camera hardware.
Zenfone AR is the first smartphone with Google Tango AR support. Tango is an augmented reality computing platform, developed by Google. It uses computer vision to enable mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets, to detect their position relative to the world around them.
Zenfone AR with the help of Tango has the ability to detect motion-tracking using an accelerometer and gyroscope along with the visual features of the environment, and it is also combined with area learning capability such as storing areas in usable maps that can be used later and also have depth perception that senses distances, sizes, and surfaces in the environment.
Asus Zenfone AR also has basic features like Dual-SIM, connectivity options like Wifi, LTE, Bluetooth, and supports a front-mounted Fingerprint scanner for added protection. It also comes with vapor cooling technology to prevent over-heating and is powered by a 3,300mAh battery. The smartphone is priced at 800 EUR which is approximately 58000 INR.
