Android O; O as in Oatmeal or Oreo Cookie or…

With Android 7.1 Nougat being the latest version of Android and is already out with many users happy, what could be the next one?

Every year we wonder which dessert could possibly be named the next version of Android, we all know it should be Android O, but what is this whole fuss about the “O”

Let’s break the suspense
As hard as it was for Google to find a dessert that went by the name Nougat starting with the letter N, Google’s labor is no less this year. It is quite a herculean task to find a dessert that has it’s name starting with the letter O. There is a real shortage and some unusual ones could be what Google may choose to name it’s latest OS version.

The possible candidates are:-

Android O Possible Names

Android 8.0 Ontbijtkoek
Pronounced as ont-beyt-kook this is a Dutch cookie loaf and is a distant cousin of Gingerbread, the Android 2.3

Android 8.0 Oliebol
Or could it be Android 8.0 Oliebol which literally means oil balls is yet another Dutch sweet, often dough mixed with currants or dry fruits.

Android 8.0 Oatmeal Cookie
Rumors go by that the next version of Android, Android 8 or as we know Android O could be Oatmeal Cookie. Pieces of evidence found in Android O’s source code suggest that it could be Oatmeal Cookie. Evidence stems from Google’s I/O presentation which is said to have the mention of Oatmeal Cookie in one of its slides.

Android 8.0 Oreo Cookie
However, there are other reports that suggest, the “O” could also be Oreo Cookie.

What do you think the O could possibly be, leave us your comments in the comment box below.
