Certain codes used in the developer preview of the upcoming Android O update signals towards Google's plans to introduce the Always On Display feature in the future. It is XDA Developers (xda-developers.com) who discovered these clues which have created a lot of excitement among Android fans.
For the uninitiated, an Always On Display feature enables the user to view notifications without unlocking the phone. This technology is already present in Samsung Galaxy S8, Samsung Galaxy S7, Moto X, LG G6 and a few other phones.

As of now, there's no confirmation from Google whether they'll go ahead and introduce this technology soon or if they were just testing possibilities. But as the users of most flagship phones are benefitting from having access to this technology, it would be great if Google decides to provide the same to Pixel customers.
