Description

The ZTE Nubia N2 has been launched with emphasis given to its battery life and selfie capabilities. It offers a split-screen feature where the screen can be split into two by swiping up from the bottom.

This dual-sim phone has a 5.5-inch display screen and a fingerprint sensor mounted on the front panel. The device runs on Android v6.0 (Marshmallow) and is powered by Octa-core (4x1.5 GHz + 4x1.3 GHz) Cortex-A53 MediaTek MT6750 processor. The front camera is of 16 megapixels and the rear camera is of 13 megapixels but LED flash has been provided only for the rear shooter. The N2 has an internal memory of 64 GB and the external memory is expandable up to 128 GB. The phone comes with 4 GB RAM and a 5000 mAh non-removable battery.

ZTE Nubia N2: A Good Mid-Range Smartphone



ZTE is a Chinese multinational telecommunications company and is the world's fourth-largest mobile phone manufacturer. While being an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) the company also sells many Android smartphones and tablets under the ZTE brand tag.

The Nubia is the name given to the brand's smartphone section that covers budget friendly, mid-tier and premium smartphone segment. Nubia has gained fame with their stellar design and hardware specifications under a decent price tag. ZTE has launched a new player, Nubia N2 which is a mid-range smartphone that packs decent features is the offering of ZTE that will compete with the growing demands of the mid-range smartphones in the market.

Design and Display: A Budget-friendly feel
ZTE made the Nubia N2 with an all aluminum body cast with curvy edges and the design looks pretty good and feels good in hands. The rear section of the phone is made of metal and the camera is placed at the top with the LED flash. The volume button and the power button are neatly placed and feel sturdy and durable. The Nubia logo is visible at the back rear center of the phone and looks stylish.

The entire smartphone has design similarities with the previous smartphones made by the company. The Nubia N2 has an AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors 5.5 inches display with 720 x 1280 resolution and 267 PPI pixel density. The display is vivid and produces bright colors. The megapixel of the camera could have been better and it is a slight downside. However, it provides enough clarity in all lighting conditions.

Processor: Quietly a good power pack
The Nubia N2 is powered by Mediatek MT6750 which is an Octa-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 with Mali-T860MP2 GPU. The MT6750 SoC is ideal for mid-range smartphones and is backed by a 4 GB RAM. The official Mediatek blog reads "MT6750 outperforms previous solutions in terms of power-efficiency and performance thanks to its octa-core CPU based on Cortex A53 (clocked at up to 1.5GHz) and also adds the modern Mali T860 dual GPU (up to 650MHz in MT6750T variant). In addition, MT6750 supports as much as 4GB of LPDDR3 memory (up to 833MHz in MT6750T variant)."

OS and Internal Storage: Lacks an Updated Software
Nubia N2 comes with Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) out of the box, the Android 6.0 is outdated and many smartphones under the similar price tag compared to the Nubia N2 is receiving the latest Android 7.0 update. Nubia N2 lags behind with an outdated OS and it's a huge drawback, yet Nubia could overcome this by providing an update as the processor supports the Android L platform.

The Nubia UI 4.0 a skin made by the company on top of the Android 6.0 will be there to make the smartphone more user-friendly. In addition to the skin, Nubia also comes with split screen technology, with this users can quickly split the screen into two by swiping up from the bottom of the screen. The screen will be split into the upper and lower sections in portrait mode, and into left and right sections in landscape mode. In terms of internal storage, a 64 GB is provided with an expandable storage of 128 GB that uses SIM 2 to cover all the multimedia storage.

Camera: Quite Good in its class
Nubia N2 has a 13 MP primary camera and has phase detection autofocus and LED flash. It has a geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, and panorama.

The Nubia N2 with all ist features and a massive 5000mAh battery is sure to attract the attention of a prospective buyer. Nubia N2 is priced rightly at Rs. 15,999 and the smartphone delivers good specifications under this price range and its competitors are Huawei Honor 8 Lite 4GB, Moto G5 Plus, and Samsung J7 Prime.
